A mom and her two teens, all with fabulous style and personality + gorgeous red hair, met with Darien Photography for a photo session before the oldest goes to college.
A mother and teens photo session with lots of personal style at Percy Warner Park, with Darien Photography— Nashville family photographer
Since the first day I met Shari (working together at the Cancer Clinic at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital where she is a Pediatric Psychologist and I am a Spanish Medical Interpreter) her great style and gorgeous hair has drawn my attention. So, I was excited when she asked me about a photo session with her daughter and son, before her daughter starts college this fall.
We met at the Percy Warner Park Allée steps on a perfect Spring day, which also happened to be Prom day in Nashville. So, the steps were packed with seniors in suits and colorful gowns. We managed to get photos without people in the background, while also using some of those colorful “dots” in some pictures to remember how the day felt like. I always love to incorporate details of the location for my client’s photo galleries. I feel like those help tell the story of that day when they decided to have their photo session with me.
I typically help my clients when they ask me “what to wear to a photo session?” but not this time, they didn’t need any guide at all. In fact, you can just take a look for inspiration on how to make your personality shine with fashion. They are artsy, goofy, sweet and kind, and it shows in the way they dress.
Shari and her kids are very stylish and creative, love to listen to alternative music, and appreciate art and design. They enjoy taking walks together, going out to eat, listening to music, watching funny provocative shows on Hulu and Netflix, and going to the Belcourt. They were a joy to photograph.
Colette is confident in front of the camera, and I am particularly super happy about the portraits of her in this session. The vibe of this family session was a mix of style, goofiness and editorial fashion portraiture. I was in heaven photographing and editing this one. I hope you enjoy looking through these images!
