Darien is a creative photographer with a documentary style and keen eye for detail.
I am a Nashville Wedding Photographer who has been in love with photography since I was in elementary school, browsing my father’s collection of Life and National Geographic magazines, and using his analog cameras before I got my own (which I still use and treasure). Since then, I’ve honed my skills enough to call myself a professional photographer. I’ve won some internationally renowned photo competitions and gotten published. But nothing makes me happier (besides spending quality time with my loved ones and traveling) than capturing the fleeting life moments with light, film and pixels (I am a hybrid photographer using digital and film photography) for myself or my clients. This is what I do best!
With my work, I portray the very human need for connection, capturing spontaneous and intimate interactions in a nonintrusive way. My educational background is in journalism and film; I am drawn to the visual arts. I’ve taken pictures professionally for over two decades — I had photo shoots across the U.S., Mexico, and overseas. Home is Nashville, but my canvas is Love.

I was born and raised in Mexico City, lived in New York for a while, and then finally settled in Nashville, the place I’ve called home for many years.
I say that I am a Nashvillian “by heart”, for two reasons:
1. Nashville has become my muse! I find myself treating my city with the wondering eyes of an explorer, scouting for places to take my clients and soaking in the views. Anything here can be the subject or background of my photography. I have a thing for its textured walls, colorful murals, parks, beautiful trails, awesome buildings, and downtown skyline. The food scene is amazing and the Southern, eclectic lifestyle suits me.
2. I married a handsome local, Miller Chandler, who is my greatest fan and the love of my life!
Fun fact: Photography brought us together when Miller hired me to take some head-shots and bought some of my images for his business’s website. The rest is history, including the chapter in which he sometimes comes to weddings with me as second photographer, so when you hire me you may see us both – how cool is that?! (See a note and a picture of us on our first date here.) We have been married since 2016 and live together in this beautiful city. Our kids are starting, or recently out of college (two sons of his, one son and a daughter of mine). Penny the cat is our only child at home 24/7!
Family and friends would describe me as a creative, resourceful person. I have done and seen many things, but a lasting passion for most of my life has been photography as well as my love for travel and film. My passport is always ready for the next destination.
